I WISH I NEVER HAD MY KIDS

Isabella Dutton who today is 57 years old talks about how having her 2 children was the biggest mistake she ever made in her life. She never wanted children yet she chose to have not 1 but 2. Perhaps her thought was that having children would somehow turn a switch on internally that would make her love children. Sorry, it doesn’t work that way. She would often refer to her children as the dreaded parasites sucking the life out of her, giving nothing back while she gave them everything she could. Wow.

She relished in her peaceful existences and although her life was rather drab, she had the luxury to do what she wanted to do whenever she wanted to do it. This was no longer a reality once her children came into this world.

She made the commitment to raise her children herself and be the best mother she could be. She always wanted her children to thrive and would never wish any harm to come to them. After 37 years, she admits she love her children very much but still wishes she had never had them.

As her children grew into adults and married, her son Stuart asked her if she would like the idea of being a grandmother. Her response was no, I don’t want to be stuck babysitting. I am embracing my new found freedom

Today, her daughter of 31, was diagnosed with MS and is living with her parents, unable to work or care for her self. So Isabellas ‘mother role” the role she always hated is still in place, and as she states, she would do anything for her daughter, even have MS for her if she could. Ironic, a woman who never wanted children continues to be a mother well into her children’s adulthood.
